The PERFECT Choice, Our Inspiration

These non-Angel toilet rolls would be the PERFECT household item to use as self defense against an intruder. It has all the traits we, the Household Objects as Self Defense bloggers, fully endorse. Not only are these toilet rolls an unexpected method of self defense, they are weapons which create time for you without being too violent. If any of our viewers knows where to get toilet paper rolls like this, we would be very, very grateful if you shared where to find them.

Stay Spicy My Friends

You're in your kitchen making dinner, when an intruder suddenly breaks into your house. He busts through your back door, and assertively walks towards you. You have no where to run, and you are in plain sight of the intruder. In a kitchen, a spice rack is always near by and is highly effective in blinding an enemy. Take a spicy powder such as chili powder from your rack, and throw it up leaving a cloud of powder near your enemy. With their sight impaired, it gives you a significantly higher chance to use one of our other methods in defending your home from an intruder.

Paper Clips

If you happen to be in your office or study when you hear an intruder, grab your paper clips, untwist one of the bends and put one around your middle finger and one around your ring finger so the pointy ends are shooting out. When you punch your opponent, you then have an advantage because you will scratch and probably injure them much more than just a punch itself.

Lamps

How often are you sitting at home watching the big game, or engrossed in your favorite show? Then all of a sudden you hear some noises around your kitchen, and it's an intruder! When you're sitting in your living room and in danger, a lamp is in close proximity, and is also very easy to use. First, you should unplug this dual use defensive weapon. Our first recommendation is to sneak up, and immobilize your intruder with the blunt end of the lamp. Lamps can also be used on the other end has a ranged weapon. The electrical cord has a long range, and can be very effective in scaring off intruders. Swing it like a lasso creating a vortex for your safety. After effectively defending your turf, you'll have enough time to watch the final drive, or catch the ending of your show.

In the Bathroom

It has been brought to our attention that not all bathrooms are equipped with plungers, and in the event that an intruder breaks in while you are in the bathroom, and you do do not have a plunger, SelfDefenseForDummies is not doing its job. If you hear someone breaking in, pull down the bar that holds up your shower curtain. It is a great weapon, whether it is used to pole vault over your intruder or hit them.

Coins and Books

If you hear an intruder breaking into your house, and you are trapped upstairs, grab a sock or a pillow case and fill it with objects like coins or. if you have a pillow case, a couple books. You can swing the sock or pillow case easily, creating a halo of safety for yourself. This prevents the attacker from coming too close to you. It also gives you something to throw at them. The momentum of the sock or pillow case gives you more strength and power than if you were to hit out by yourself.

The Plunger

Not only is a plunger an extremely disgusting weapon, but it is also easy to hold. Plungers are in most bathrooms, and bathrooms will be an easy place for you to run to if you hear an intruder enter your house. If you can grab a plunger, aggressively brandish it in the direction of your intruder. You will probably catch your intruder by surprise because, naturally, no one expects a plunger to be used as a weapon. The disgust immediately caused by the prospect of using a plunger for self defense will buy you a few seconds, sometimes all you need to dodge and run.

Self Defense: Using Aerosols

With limited time, one can quickly look to find an aerosol in their home. Aerosols are an effective way to fend off intruders from a far distance. We recommend hiding the aerosol before it's use in order to prevent the assailant from defending himself effectively. When the intruder is close and in range, pull out the aerosol and spray towards an area which will give you an advantage for defending yourself, such as the eyes. Using an aerosol successfully can bolster your chances in defending oneself, which makes it suggestion number one from Self Defense with Household Items for defending yourself.

This Blog

While many people think that when their house is broken into, they will physically fight back, most are not so brave. If you are in your bedroom and you hear an intruder downstairs, you usually do not have the time nor are you in the state of mind to run downstairs and grab a knife. While calling 911 is our first recommendation, it does take time for help to arrive and you may be put in a dangerous situation where you have to confront your attacker. This blog is for times when legitimate weapons are out of reach and household items must be used instead. Common objects around your house can go a long way if you know how to use them. Do you want to be caught off guard?
DISCLAIMER: All of these solutions for intruders are just our suggestions, and not what you absolutely should do. Your first priority should be to call the local authorities.
